§ About

Project leader who writes the code — and cares who’s free to own it.

Two threads, one person: delivering technical programs, and defending people’s freedom to run, study, and own the software underneath them.

I’m Poorajith Sasikumar Thenmozhi. I lead the Infrastructure & Security project portfolio at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and co-founded Mint Labs and its first product MintGrid. Before all of it, I got my start in free software, helping organize Free Software Foundation Tamil Nadu.

The through-line across every role and every city has been the same conviction: the people who use software deserve to understand it, change it, and share it. That belief took shape in Tamil Nadu, running free-software workshops in colleges — work that was less about ideology than about changing how people worked and motivating them to adopt tools they could own. It still shapes how I run programs today: open standards, documented systems, and people brought along rather than pushed.

On the professional side I work at the seam between project management and engineering. Today that means a 15+ project, ~$2M-a-year infrastructure and security portfolio at WPI; before it, federal cybersecurity and compliance work at RELI Group (CMMC, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001) and product delivery across two startups in Chennai. Five-plus years, three very different worlds — higher education, federal contracting, and startups — and the same job underneath: own the whole lifecycle and ship on time. I write the Python, architect the compliance, and lead the teams that deliver.
